Some urologic cancers can impact both men and women, such as cancers of the bladder, kidneys and adrenal glands. Others, such as prostate or testicular cancer, only affect men.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer found in men, with about one in seven men diagnosed each year.
While that number can be alarming, keep in mind that 97% of men with prostate cancer will not die from the disease, according to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). In many cases of prostate cancer, active surveillance or watchful waiting is the only treatment required.
